NZTA ezy-guard z post on baseplate2

Z-Post on Baseplate – NZTA approved

May 2015
The Z-Post on baseplate to suit the Ezy-Guard safety barrier system has now been approved for use by the NZTA in locations where a driven Z-Post cannot be used. Applications for a surface mount post are required in many instances due to the presence of underground services or the lack of a stable soil embankment behind the barrier. Note that use as side protection on State highway structures is not permitted as W-Beam systems are not accepted for such application.

The installation takes the form of a ground beam which, depending on local soil conditions, is typically in the region of 20m long with the Z-Post on baseplate secured to the concrete via the standard NZTA cast-in bracket. The configuration uses a standard M20x130 galvanised bolt and not a necked bolt. Refer drawing EZM-SM-033 for general arrangement of post and bracket.
