660m Ingal MPR

The Putty Road is a 174km rural road that links the north-western suburbs of Sydney to the Hunter Region in New South Wales, Australia. The southern terminus of the Putty Road is Windsor and the northern terminus is Singleton.

The Putty Road is bounded to the west and east by protected national parks – the Wollemi National Park to the west, and the Yengo National Park to the east – both part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Greater Blue Mountains Area. The Putty Road enters the Hunter Valley at the northern end of the Howes Creek gorge.

This very scenic route is popular with tourists, motorcyclists, and cyclists, however, is narrow and winding in places. Additional protection was specified in locations for these vulnerable road users with the Ingal MPR being the chosen solution. In total, 660m was installed on the existing G4 guardrail system to protect riders from impacting rigid roadside hazards.
