Higgins Construction Supply of 13km Safence Wire Rope Safety Barrier Supply of 5km Ezy-Guard Guardrail
This project was the construction of safety proofing measures on State Highway One between Picton and Blenheim. The section is 25km long and includes the installation of 5km Steel Post W-Section, with a minimum containment of Test Level 3, Ezy-Guard was chosen as the most appropriate safety barrier for this project due to its narrow footprint, motorcyclist friendly attributes and proven safety benefits. These runs were terminated with the ET2000 Plus energy absorbing terminal and standard NZTA trailing terminals.
The project also included 13km of TL4 Wire Rope Safety Barrier, Safence TL4 was the system of choice for these runs due the added benefit of having the non-release TL3 Terminal. This system has the added benefit of retaining the ropes after an impact to the terminal.
These safety upgrades were completed by Higgins Construction.
