43kms of Safence Wire Rope Barrier with Non-release TL3 Terminals. This project was one of the first projects in NZ to use the Safence Driven Sleeve system. This system requires no concrete (except for the anchor blocks), or spoil removal, allowing for speedy installation, which can be undertaken in any weather.

The Huntly Bypass is a 15 kilometre section of the Waikato Expressway, a 102-kilometre four-lane highway from the Bombay Hills to the south of Cambridge, which will be complete when the Hamilton section opens in late 2021.
The Huntly Bypass will reduce traffic congestion and improve safety within the Huntly and Taupiri townships by significantly reducing through traffic. This is a key strategic transport corridor for Waikato. When completed, the Waikato expressway will save 35 minutes from Auckland to Tirua, reduce fatal and serious injury crashes, plus reducing congestion on smaller townships Cambridge, Huntly and Ngaruawahia.
The Waikato Expressway has been designed taking the Safe System approach, which looks beyond the driver in the design of safety aspects of the road. It identifies and addresses all the causes of crash trauma which means that all parts of the system will be much safer. This ensures the planning and design will make them more forgiving of errors. Safence WRSB and Ezy-Guard were the safety barriers of choice for this project offering the highest level of guardrail and wire-rope safety barrier protection available to the market. Crashes into WRSB provide a much softer impact to vehicle occupants while still offering a containment level up to TL4.
